My Favorite Healing Tool Lately: The Alkaline Aromatherapy Bath

alkaline aromatherapy bath salts essential oils healing recipe Jan 31, 2021

Here's the most useful healing tool I've been using lately. I’m excited to share with you some recent awesome results with having people do an:

Alkaline Aromatherapy Bath

I learned this from a healer years ago and have had so many good results with it. It can definitely transform your mood. It’s pretty simple. Here’s the recipe:

1 pound epsom salt (or any kind of salt, some people like sea salt)

2 pounds of baking soda

3-8 drops of your favorite essential oil.

Lately I’ve been using a new blend I called named, Lavender Dreams™. It has calming flowers in it: lavender, chamomile, melissa and rose. These are called the “nervine” herbs, because they calm the nervous system. (which most all of us could use!). People rarely use melissa because it’s really pricey and never sold in stores. My teachers called it the “mother of all nervines” and said it’s the most powerful calming herb. So I use it a lot. The chamomile I have is amazing one, cape chamomile from South Africa. I’m in love with the smell! It’s so much more sweet and pleasing than German or Roman chamomile, I can’t get enough of it. I use it in almost all my new blends now.

I take this aromatherapy bath at bedtime, right before I go to bed. I fall asleep so much easier and have a more restful night of sleep. Initially people think it’s quite a bit of baking soda, but I feel that is the magic. It helps to clear acidity in the body and it helps soften the lymph nodes. It also helps to absorb the essential oils so they don't float on the top of the water and irritate your skin. Mix them first in the baking soda and then put in the water.

I like the bath 105 degrees and soak for 30-60 minutes. Someone asked, me “can I do this every day?”  The answer is YES you can. Bathing is super relaxing and healing. I often bathe twice a day, once in the morning and at bedtime. I use stimulating and energizing oils in the morning to wake me up and calming ones at night. I’ve been overjoyed hearing some great stories from people who have tried this simple recipe too.

I had a mom with an 18 month old with a fever for three days which she couldn’t get down. She gave her this bath (at a mild temperature) and said it was a miracle. She said she got out of the tub, no more crabby baby, fussing or with fever. She got out of the tub and was back to her happy self.

I had a lady with lymph nodes in her neck getting hard and it cleared that up after one treatment. I also had a friend who is a serious body builder, he lifts weights every day. He tried it and texted me to say he felt “sublime” and wanted to know where he could find more info about it on the internet. I laughed. It’s just a folk remedy passed down from mom to mom, healer to healer. To me, that’s what real naturopathy is about. People who love simple living, natural healing remedies and self-healing. Instead of running to the medicine cabinet for a prescription, we like using herbal tea, castor oil, essential oils and simple body treatments, hydrotherapy and bathing is one of my favorite. I love being in water. Try this out and let me know what you think. If you get some great results, let me know, I'll share them!
