Glutathione IV Push

Glutathione is a powerful antioxidant that is present in every cell of the body. It is often referred to as the “Master Antioxidant” and is most concentrated in the liver. Glutathione has several important jobs:

  • It protects and preserves the brain and other body tissues.
  • It helps the liver detoxify chemicals.
  • It recycles vitamins C and E which protect the body from free radical damage.
  • It assists with detoxifying heavy metals from the body.
  • It protects the skin and lens, cornea and retina of the eye against radiation damage and oxidative stress.
  • It decreases inflammation.
  • It is vital to white blood cells and enhances immune response.

What conditions are benefited from glutathione?
Atheletes - Glutathione is used to enhance peak performance by quenching free radicals.
Anti-Aging - All aging is accelerated by oxidative stress and toxicity. Glutathione levels in the body decrease with age. By  supplementing, you assist the liver in detoxifying and may slow down the aging process.
Chronic Fatigue - there have been several studies showing improvement in CFS with Glutathione.
Diabetes - testing of diabetics has shown low levels of Glutathione in blood and tissues. The goal of therapy is to prevent or slow the progression of damage to the kidneys, retina and other vital organs.
Liver Disease - fatty liver, hepatitis and alcoholic liver disease may improve with glutathione. There is often a decrease in liver enzymes as well as relief of symptoms such as pain or steattorrhea (light colored stool from excess fat in the stool).
Neurological Conditions - Alzheimer’s Disease, dementia, memory loss and multiple sclerosis have been treated with glutathione.
Parkinson’s Disease - Glutathione Therapy shows the most dramatic results with reducing tremor. Often tremors stop or are dramatically reduced during the therapy.
Prevention - many people choose to have IV glutathione to prevent the development of illness due to oxidative stress or toxicity.
Stroke - after a stroke there is cell death and free radical damage. Glutathione’s antioxidant capability may play an important role in reestablishing functioning of these cells.
Cancer - post chemotherapy or radiation, glutathione helps to detoxify free radicals generated during therapy.

There is a theory that many degenerative conditions (such as Dementia, Parkinson’s Disease, MS, etc..) are due to heavy metal toxicity. Since Glutathione is required to remove heavy metals from the body, a deficiency or inability to make Glutathione is believed to be a contributing factor in the development of these diseases. Glutathione Therapy shows promise of bringing relief in these conditions. There are newer tests now available to detect deficiency of Glutathione in the blood.
Neurogenomic Profile by Genova Diagnostics.

David Perlmutter, M.D., a board-certified Neurologist, is nationally-recognized for his work on treating neurological conditions with glutathione. He has authored The Brain Recovery BookBrainRecovery.com and Power Up Your Brain.

We only use glutathione from Wellness Compounding Pharmacy, which is utilized in protocols developed by Dr. Perlmutter.

What about taking Glutathione orally?
Glutathione is a delicate molecule and is only effective in the form of Reduced L-Glutathione. Most oral products are not stable and do not produce the same results as IV Therapy. Wellness Compounding Pharmacy has developed a liposomal oral product that may be supplemented between IV treatments. This is helpful but not as effective as the IV therapy.

Glutathione IV push may be given right after the Myers Cocktail (administered through the same injection). It’s a powerful antioxidant the body needs to detoxify heavy metals and chemicals from the body. Treatment starts at $85 for 500mg. The dosage may be increased according to the response and the doctor’s prescription.

Frequency
Glutathione IV push can be given up to three times per week depending oncondition. The protocol for Parkinson’s Disease is the most frequent. For wellness, fatigue and peak performance, the frequency is usually once a week or twice a month.
